Color Palette

build a harmony palette from one color.

about

Pick a base color and a harmony scheme — complementary, analogous, triadic, split-complementary, tetradic, monochromatic, greyscale, or random. Lock the swatches you like, add or remove swatches, regenerate the rest, and save the whole set.

how to use

  1. Choose a harmony scheme from the dropdown (or Random for anything-goes).
  2. Click any swatch to open the color picker and edit it; the first swatch is your base.
  3. Lock the swatches you like, then hit regenerate to re-roll the rest.
  4. Use + / − to add or remove swatches, copy a hex, or save the whole palette.

faq

How are the colors calculated?

We rotate the base hue in HSL space per scheme — +180° for complementary, ±30°/±60° for analogous, +120°/+240° for triadic, ±150° for split-complementary, 90° steps for tetradic, lightness steps for monochromatic, and zero-saturation steps for greyscale. Random is just that — fresh random colors each roll.

What does locking a swatch do?

A locked swatch keeps its exact color when you regenerate, change the scheme, or edit the base — only the unlocked swatches recompute.

Where are saved palettes stored?

Locally in your browser. They persist across reloads and never leave your device.
